SIMPLE METHOD TO CONVERT REGULAR GROUND BEEF TO LESS THAN 1% FAT

In these days of sitting at the table and playing video games, obesity is a major problem, even among kids. Although there are different reasons on why people gain weight and become fat, one of the contributor to obesity is the amount of fat that we consume through beef. I have found a very simple method of how to remove fat from ground beef and wish to share it with everyone. Regular ground beef contains almost 28% fat. Lean ground beef which is more expensive and costs thrice the price of regular ground beef has almost 10% fat and extra lean ground beef which is the most expensive and above the reach of the middle class and the lower middle class is supposed to contain almost 5% fat. Now, how do we remove even this 5% fat from extra lean ground beef or how to remove the 28% fat from regular ground beef. Let us try to remove the fat out of the regular ground beef.

Buy regular ground beef. Pour water into it and boil it for at least an hour and a half. What we have to understand is, that when the meat boils, the fat in the meat melts and comes to the top. Cool it and refrigerate it overnight. The next day morning when you look at it, the fat would have come to the top, hardened and would have become thick like a cake. Remove it and throw it away. Although most of the fat would have been removed and it would have less fat than extra lean ground beef, boil it once more with water, cool it and again refrigerate it overnight. The next day you will notice a very thin layer of hardened fat in it, remove it and throw it away. This way you will be able to remove most of the fat out of the ground beef. Now after boiling the meat twice, although most of the fat has been removed, this will still contain some negligible amount of fat, but much, much lower fat than extra lean ground beef.

If you repeat the process of boiling, cooling and removing the fat from the beef twice, you will end up with beef having fat content probably less than 1% fat. If you repeat the process of boiling, cooling and removing the fat from the beef the third time, you will still find a very, very, very thin film of fat in the beef. Cost wise this is very economical as lean ground beef is three times more expensive than regular ground beef and contains much more high amounts of fat.

With regard to beef cubes, although it is possible to remove fat in this manner, it is difficult to remove the major portion of the fat from beef cubes. You can try boiling the beef cubes in a pressure cooker, still you will find it difficult to remove fat from beef cubes. It is very easy to remove fat from ground beef.

Once the fat has been removed, you can add spices and cook the beef the way you want it.

Warning: remember, once you remove the fat, more than half the taste of the beef will be lost.
